Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Our Lands (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Our Lands is a free mobile application that helps users discover, explore, and plan visits to federal recreation sites across the United States. The App provides information about sites managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

No Government Affiliation

Our Lands is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, or any federal agency. All agency names are used for identification purposes only.

No Warranty on Site Information

Site information, including locations, fees, hours of operation, and descriptions, is provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information is current or complete. Always verify site details with the managing agency before visiting. Conditions at federal sites can change due to weather, closures, construction, or policy changes. Site photos are sourced from public and community collections (including Wikimedia Commons and U.S. federal agencies) and are provided for general illustration only; they may not depict the exact location and are not guaranteed to be current or accurate.

User Responsibility & Assumption of Risk

Users are responsible for their own safety when visiting federal recreation sites. Visiting recreation sites involves inherent risks. The App does not provide real-time trail conditions, weather alerts, or safety advisories. Always follow posted regulations, practice Leave No Trace principles, and prepare appropriately for outdoor activities.

Intellectual Property

The Our Lands app, including its design, code, and original content, is the property of the developer. Site data is sourced from the Recreation Information Database (RIDB), a public dataset maintained by Recreation.gov. Photos are sourced from Wikimedia Commons and other public sources under their applicable licenses, with attribution shown in the app.

Donations

When available, donations are made to qualifying organizations subject to available funding.

Limitation of Liability

Our Lands is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. The developer shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of the App, including but not limited to inaccurate site information, navigation errors, injury, loss, or inability to access the App.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
